I now have an apprentice, a young woman of remarkable intelligence and determination.  Fearless, too. Laughing

Metalworking/Blacksmithing Equipment Must Go

Blacksmithing | Welding | Metalworking FleaMarket |

This is a list of most of my larger metalworking equipment I have for sale. Some of it is practically new while other pieces are used. Everything I am selling does work. It may have some dust on it but it will clean up just fine. My shop has a partial dirt floor for cutting, grinding, and ease on the feet, but it does raise dust and that is why some of the equipment looks dusty.

Conference Time Again!

Blacksmithing | |

It's that time of the year again kids, and I'm off into the wild blue yonder to attend a couple of blacksmithing conferences. The purpose is to expand my repertoire of techniques, make business contacts and improve my business - that is, this is all tax deductible. (grin)

Help Needed - Glass Source

| |

Hey kids, I need some help here!

I have a probable commission coming up where I'm going to need some custom glass enclosures made for exterior lighting. At present it looks like I'll need twenty or thirty glass cylinders about 4" diameter by 16" tall, with one closed end. They'll probably be clear glass, or cloudy/streaky - I don't think we're looking at colors at this point, anyway.

Vivian is an engaging and accomplished teacher, and the comment after class is "I had a blast!"

Forging the Grotesque, with Frederic A. Crist

| | | | |

Fred Crist, sculptor and fine metals artist, will lead a 3-day workshop on Forging the Grotesque on April 1-3, 2011.

About Fred Crist: “Forging metal has always been my choice of material and process as a sculptor and craftsman. From the time I was first introduced to this direct manipulation of metal as a student at Philadelphia College of Art in 1974, (under the direction of Jack Andrews) I was captivated by its potential as a sculptural medium.
