Since Art is based upon the imaginative, fantastic or creative drives, it is a discovery process, fraught with adventures for the Artist’s mind. One solves problems with a product in mind, while the other has the encouragement of discovering novelty as its goal.

Hello, my name is Candela, I'm 19 y/old and a silversmith, but what I really do is chasing-repousse...This is my first post here, i'm also trying to submit an image of my work,(hope u like it!), posting here seems a bit confusing to me; I don't know if this post is going to end up at an image gallery or at a chasing forum(I'd like the forum, that was my idea).

New to blogging

I am new to blogging and very interested in learning more as I really don't know what I'm doing. This is my first attempt and I'm learning as I go. I have done this section a number of times as I look into another area and then when I go back everything I've entered has disappeared. Hopefully this time it will work correctly. I am looking for some helpful hints that will assist me with this (don't get technical). I am also fairly new in the metal art business, I design the art and run the business, my husband cuts and finishes our art. I am looking for a serious mentor to assist me in learning how to market, etc, a new business and hopefully miss some common pitfalls that I may not know about as yet.

Here is a simple table that was designed after a friend of mine who redecorates her house every other week. The table has 5 bay like recesses with glass bottoms that can be filled with beads, broken glass, sand, dried flowers, and whatever her head can come up with. I had a couple of exotic hard wood shelves made for it, and, since she was a florist, a sealed plexi-glass "vase". It didn't require a lot of crazy metal work, but it is one of the more fun pieces I've done.

Morph coffee tables

Here are a few coffee tables I created over the past year or so. I called it the morph series. The starting point was based on "synergy", the idea of a number of small elements that when put together become stronger than sum of all of the pieces. I'm not sure if that ended up being true with these tables, but it was the start of the design process. I named the series Morph because it seemed that with one element or building block I could create any shape or volume. It almost became a challenge. I would think of a shape and then see if i could build it. As of yet, I've only made coffee tables , but I have a dining table in the design phase.
