The Steel-Izzard.

The intresting thing about this peice is that first of all I used it to test two new peices of equiptment. A sheet metal shear/roller and spot welder were used to create most of the body links. The Steel-Izzard is articulated throughout the body.

Welded some scraps together, plus a bit of shaping,and ended up with a snail. He's nine inches long.Kind of a half baked commission.

Hi all, just got some fantastic news. I just won my first juried Call to Artists for a public art project. I'm so excited. The sculpture is called Ascension and is for a public rose garden in the Dundee Memorial Park in Omaha, NE. The petals are 12ga stainless steel hollow forms with an electropolished finish. I posted the presentation pages I submitted and would love to hear everyones take on them. I'm still not exactly sure how to write a "Letter of Interest" so any insight into that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Have been busy on another project but last week I attended a regional MetalMeet at Dutch Comstock's shop in upstate NY and while there I spent considerable time working on Monique.

Spent most of my time working on Monique's shoulders and back. LOTS and LOTS of shape! LOTS!
