I just secured this commission over the holidays.It is designed for "Palm Square Sopping Center",so though it is site specific ,my clients knew before hand pretty much what they wanted, so there was little creative input on my part. Sometimes you just have to give people what they want,not necessarily what you think they need...This is one of those times.

Looking for the steel sculpture with shell casings

Last night a I ran across a photo of a steel sculpture with shell casings cascading down and some were frozen in mid air. Now I can't find what I was looking at. Does anyone know the blog or post that it was on? I found it interesting and would like to again read some of the posts that were there.

Hey folks!

Last year I completed a commission for a bird sculpture (http://www.wildgates.com/bird-sculpture-10.html), but the way I went about creating the initial shape was, well, a bit edgy. Metal speaks to me.

Firstly it calls to me, drawing me to it with a magnetic pull that is impossible to resist. I might be walking or driving when suddenly I know for certain that discarded and abandoned metal is nearby, waiting for me to find it. And I always do.

It took a bit of time, but I'm close to completing my first Lion sculpture.The only thing remaining is the beard, which will be stylistic.

Lion sculptures of antiquity were the strongest influence with their hint of human qualities.This beast is content, not angry.
