Idyllwild workshop "METALS WEEK"

I leave the Arizona heat for the cooler climate of the San Bernadino Mountains to teach a weeklong workshop at the Idyllwild Art Academy. An exhibit of the work of the istructors will be held at the Parks Exhibition Center and I will be presenting 6 brooches for the show. I am in a panic mode preparing for the class and know it will be a wonderful experience for all who participate.

aluminum fabrication

Hey out there. I am a new member here. I have a small company who contracts to fabricate furniture mostly, but other projects as well. I am in desperate need of a really awesome aluminum fabrication shop or expert aluminum welder to help me complete a project. Anyone interested or know a good shop or welder?

Suggestions for making threads on a sterling bottle

I'm looking at making a small sterling bottle and I want to put a screw cap on it like flask. Unfortunately, I have NO IDEA how to even begin to make the threads on the bottle, no less the cap.

Basically, I'm making an oil bottle and need to be able to screw the lid down to engage the gasket. I've run over a couple of ideas in my mind about how I might go about this, but none of them seem a good way to go.

Cone Bender

This is a concept of a less than $10.00 cone bender that could concievably bump-bend a cone. A couple of simple sticks of flat bar with another one bolted loosely between. Depending on the space between at each end, you could make a fine cone with light sheet metal with this.

Making a Jig To Bend Circles etc.

I am currently trying to bend around a strong pipe welded to a piece of angle holding it in the vice.
This takes me too much time and is too difficult and takes the enjoyment out of the craft. Cannot afford to buy a tool for this and the tools they do sell are not strong enough for bending 20mm rebar. If anyone could help me out, would be well appreciated.
