Where has all the beautiful neoclassical 'art' jewelry gone? No, I don't mean from the last century or two, but the techniques and eye pleasing results of work that not just anyone knows how to make anymore? Greek golden age neoclassical art jewelry is a very slim catagory these days. The art is nearly lost and the techniques are not shared openly enough to bring it back from the brink. What I personally think is worst...is that everything from shapes to shapelessness, blobs and empty shells of metal both precious and non are passing for fine art and begging for understanding and meaning when, like a poem, it is really only there for the very few.

Portrait Cameo Bracelet

This is a sample of my newest work with PMC. It depicts 3-d "silhouettes" of each of my grandchildren. These are miniature portraits -- sort of cameo-style -- secured on art-deco links with each child's birthstone.

forged candleholders

this is a set of two candleholders made in (sterling) silver and construction steel, both forged. I made these a while ago. they can stand separatet or combined twisting around each other. its nice to play with the positions.

Champleve Lion

The champleve lion is made of pierced copper & leaded enamel. The bracelet is made of hammered, stamped copper & fine silver.

finel fabrication

now I fabricated all the pieces and made hinges(hinges =moving parts, like a door.don't think i spelled that wright.) from scratch. this pic is made at the forge of my good friend and master willem jonkers III where I dit some overhoures to meet the deadlinge. after that I finished it with pumice stone(bit primetive but it works the best for an even surfice. try it) sandpaper and then policing.

Copper & Silver Spiral Pendant

This was just an experimental piece which I almost destroyed. But I kind of like it anyway. It's a domed copper disc with a silver hammered spiral and smooth silver dots.

Sterling wedding bands

I completed these today. They are sterling silver and are the first rings I have made in silver. It was a little harder than I thought. They will most likely get delivered tomorrow.
