Working with nails?

I have a great idea for a sculpture made out of nails. I am new to working with metals and welders, so I am unsure as to what would be the best type of welder for such a job. The project will take many small welds that will connect nails that range in size from 1 inch to 8 inch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Santa Claus brought me a MIG welder!

Well I must have been a good girl this year cause Santa brought me a Millermatic 140 MIG welder. I was more than surprised. So now I've got my plasma cutter and welder and have my first designs ready to be put onto steel. I just have to get the workshop in good order so I don't burn down the garage and we'll be all set!

I am sick of this! (mig feed problem)

O.k. I am just sick of this. I have spent the last 3 years trying to figure out my wire feed problem and I still haven't. It always starts out fine, smooth feed, even. Then after awhile it starts to get spitty, starts to be uneven, fits and starts. It no longer makes the pretty and perfect line it starts with.
