Linseed and paint

If I put a 50/50 mix of mineral spirits/linseed oil on an iron piece I'm working on.

Is it possible to paint it?

No powder coat due to the cost involved.

Billy Jean in Steel

Well, She is almost done so I just had to make a post. I have been working on this piece for quite a while actually. It is my first real art welding project, and I just started powder coating about 3 weeks ago. The materials are piano wire, steel bar, and I think it was 22g steel sheet for the back. I powder coated the pieces and will be doing a coat of high gloss over the whole thing so she will shine a bit more. The blue of her face/body will be much more blue once the clear coat is on it, but the rest of the colors should stay the same.

When I started this project, the focus was on the wire and not really the background, but now that it is done, the background seems to be bare...I may add some stuff to the yellow parts of her body still before I coat it. That always seems to be my worst problem is actually being done with something!
