Bonsai with Hammered Leaves, wire tree sculpture: 20"H x 14"W x 13"D Created using 24 & 26 gauge galvanized steel wire. The end of each twig is hammered flat to create a flat leaf which gives the tree a very full appearance. The tree sits on a mound made of sea sand many assorted pebbles and rocks. The sea sand and pebbles are painted in yellows and greens using India ink, which will not fade and gives the appearance of moss covered earth. The piece is planted on a 6.5 inch round antique solid wood base, with hand cut openings on the sides. It was made in Japan.Many people have asked me what was my inspiration to create wire trees.

10" X 9" X 9" Made with 24 and 26 gauge gold color wire. Planted on a 5 inch round base using sea sand and various size pebbles. The sea sand is painted in yellows and greens using India ink to look like moss covered earth.

5" x 5"x 4" The tree is made of 24 and 26 gauge steel wire with parts of the trunk rusted to a soft brown color. Woven into the branches are yellow green and white fringe beads. The tree is bonded into a round tarnished brass base using sea sand and small pebbles and a small rock. The sea sand is painted yellow and green India ink to look like moss covered earth.

7"H x 5"W x 6"D Created using 24 and 26 gauge solid copper wire. The trunk and the root system are cotaed and will retain a glossy appearance. The branches and the twigs are untreated copper and will darken and petina with age.

Wire tree sculpture with hammered leaves. 17" wide x 28" high. Created using 18, 24 and 26 gauge steel galvanized wire. The hundreds of leaves are created by hammering flat every end of every wire, the flattened leaves are then hand painted in several shades of green using enamel paint. The fully exposed root system is set into a beautifully hand painted floral design 7" round ceramic pot. The tree sculpture is permanently bonded into its base using a mixture of mortar, white glue, sea sand, pebbles and small rocks. The sand is painted in shades of green and yellow, using India ink, giving the appearance of a moss setting. This sculpture can be displayed in direct sunlight. All the coloring agents used are light fast, and will not fade.

I started making these trees about a year ago. I was just messing around showing some one else how to weld. By the end of the day I had a couple of these trees on my workbench. No frame or anything was used.

20" X 17" X 17". Made of 20, 26 and 28 gauge gold colored wire. All the leaves on this tree are created by hammering and flattening each wire.
