Copper Bone Fish

This "Oio"(bone fish) is done in 24 gauge copper and measures 28 inches. After an initial forming in a wooden stake, I made a tool to do the scale pattern. I had to precisely place the tool each time

Copper Unicorn Fish

This "Kala"(unicorn fish) is formed in 24 gauge copper and measures 18 inches. I form the body in a wooden stake, and chase the lines with some chisels I've adapted. I solder a fin or two, and do a light heat treatment to get the orange color.

Is the door there to keep something out, or some thing in?

I did this one right after I did "Diamond Head". Backing is ceramic tile, adorned with jute twine. I did several of these from a series of "Death Masks".

"Art" and trying to figure out where it came from

"Art" and trying to figure out where it came from

Yes I know this is a Metal board but you guys have been around art for a long time.

Ok, so here is the short story on this piece. My inlaws had this in their house for more than 45 years. We know it came from Cape Cod. We think it came from Wellfleet. It is clay and wood on a wood backing. 7 foot wide by 5 tall. Weights in at 158 lbs. No name, no paperwork, my mother inlaw knew the whole story about this piece. Sadly they are both gone now.
