Canadian Pride

Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I've been on Art Metal, I just haven't had time to get on.  My husband, Walter and I just got an award through an association we belong to (Home Based Business Association) we're really proud that we receive it, it's for promoting the Comox Valley (Vancouver Island), BC, Canada. We presented a couple of pieces to the Canadian Forces a while back and got this wonderful recognition for it (you can read about the whole story by going to our website at www.AblazeMetalArt.com).

A different copper tree

Hey Will, Hi all Here is my copper tree project. It was for a school here in Arizona. 7 to 9 feet tall out of steel with 968 copper leaves. The trunk is made out of 1 inch 3/4 and 1/2 inch solid stock. It came with the "tree bark" texture already stamped in from the mill. I used the forge and a hydraulic pipe bender. (That two days ago fell on my foot breaking two toes!!!!) (yes I was wearing steel toed boots) The kids and staff repoussed the leaves and it took almost 3 hours to hang them all. We installed over Xmas break so when everyone came back there it was. The teacher we worked with said the kids were just standing there with their mouths hanging open. Wound up being alittle over 300 lbs so the school made me sink it in concrete.
