patina finish

first attempt at patina

Help with finding finish for steel handle on guitar case

|

Electric BCU handle.jpg

I am a UK based designer. I have developed a range of cases for guitars and laptops
(www.calderoriginals.com) which have a stainless steel strip in the handle (more photos below).

I am unhappy with the look of the steel and hope to find something with a more subtle character - possibly patinated/oxidised ? I know nothing about this area and so would be grateful for any suggestions.
