Hi,
I would like to find out more about Mokume-Gane.
What type of metal should the box be in which you place your stack?
Must the box be properly sealed?
How much bigger must the box be than the stack?

Here is a picture of my latest mokume billet that I have fused. I fused it using the James Binnion/ Steve Midgett method that is talked about in Steve Midgett's book. Mokume Gane, A comprehensive Study. The plan is to hammer it down to a 12-14 inch disc (or the biggest 18 gauge disc I can get out of it). Once it is patterned I will be taking it to David Huang. We have talked about doing a collaborative project abd are interested in experimenting with mokume, raising, and then chasing and repoussee- I'll try to keep the pictures updated while the project progresses.

my entrance piece for "bowl of humen delights" exhib: liquid pasion

this is my entrance piece for the exhipition I talkt earlier about. the hole piece has been forged, raised and chased out of a single billet of mokume. metals are silver copper and brass
piece is 28 cm in diameter and about 17 cm high. general shape whas inspiren on a drop of water falling and bounching back
