Looking for a Super Steel Sealant 2!

| | | | | | | | | | | | |

I don't know if my previous question went through. I MIG and TIG steel sculptures. I am looking for advice on cleaners and sealers for ferrous metals. I have used cold patinas (I am unable to use a torch right now -- this may change), and Permalac with a wax coating. The result indoors and out has been rust. I can accept a certain amount of rust, but I would rather not.

Winter Bird Nest - Wire Tree Sculpture

18"H x 14"W x 14"D
Created using 22, 24 & 26 gauge galvanized steel wire. This piece expresses a promise of spring. The tree is bare with no leaves and a very intricate network of roots. All the color and life is shown in the gold color nest, with the 2 white pearl eggs. The tree sits on a mound made of sea sand many assorted pebbles and rocks. The sea sand and pebbles are painted in yellows, greens and whites, using India ink, which will not fade in sunlight, and gives the appearance of moss covered earth. The piece is planted on an 8 inch round solid wood base, with hand cut openings on the sides. The wood base was made in Japan.

Financial Wake Up Call

| | | | | | | | |

Heh, somehow I get the feeling this little blog is going to become the dumping ground for my thoughts, my experiences, my triumphs and insecurities. Being able to express your thoughts and impressions on your work and your business, even if its just typing the words out on a screen, is incredibly cathartic. I find myself severely lacking in personal relationships in my life, which means I severely lack people that I can talk to and work things out with. Makes it very hard when I'm holding all this weight on my own shoulders. So, I'm hoping this little blog here will prove to be a helpful resource in allowing me to dump my experiences, both good and bad, in some place where I can look back and read it, and where others may read it and offer helpful advice, or take comfort in the fact that they're not the only ones struggling with these issues.

Greetings, Just found this site and figured it would be a good place to meet others with my interest.

There are lots of metal folks here, but none are doing repousse and chased jewelry. It's rather my niche here.
