How can I make a 3mm 14k gold ball?

Jewelry | | |

I would like to adorn one of my jewelry pieces with a 3mm 14k gold ball (with no holes), however, I can't seem to find such an item to purchase, so I thought I would create my own from gold wire, chips or grain. As I only have experience soldering with silver, and gold is an expensive commodity to 'practice' with these days, I thought it would be prudent to ask for advice from others.

What I did on Spring Break!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share what I got to do on my Spring Break (been taking classes at the College). I had the opportunity to go out to Ireland for 9 days, and spent 5 of those days with Brian at the Bregin Clarke Studio School of Metalsmithing! It was a great time! It was nice to see some of the friends I made there some years back. The Guinness was AMAZING too!

The first workshop I have given in my studio has come to an end. I have to say that it was a true pleasure giving this workshop, not for the money, but because of the students, their individual projects, and their enthusiasm.
