Something New... for me

| | |

I started working with metal about 6 months ago. After some safety instruction and a few tips from a welder friend, I simply grabbed the torch and some tools and began smashing and bashing and creating. I also read every single bit of info I could get my hands on, including some of the great info on this site. I learned through trial and (lots of) error making small pieces of copper jewelry which sold well at local art shows.

Hello, I'm new here.

Short about me :^)

First I must to apologise for my horroble English.
I'm 31 old and I'm Polish sculptor and armourer. Most of my realisations are replicas and stylisations of the helmets...in this category my favorite subject is creating of masked helmets and portrait-masks.

Mask, Rusted

Another recent piece, sans backpiece. This is meant to hang on the wall, but I'm still working on the wooden backpiece.
Welded steel mask, about 30" tall. Used muriatic acid technique to rust it.

"Witnessing Chaos" - Art Masks - Wall Reliefs

"Witnessing Chaos" is mask I made shortly after my divorce. There is nothing like the experience of loosing total control over your surroundings when a family is broken apart.

I experienced this emotion back in the winter of 1999. Even though I thought my control over my surroundings ended, I did get control back of my life. Experiencing this disabling emotion has actually help me understand myself and the world around me.
