This one is kinetic. It moves with the wind, swaying with a good breeze, it makes green light flow over surfaces in the right light situation.

Phoenix

This is my stained glass Phoenix that has become to me a symbol of my retirement. The flames represent the fire of the forge and the smoky sky is self-explanatory. I identify with the Phoenix as he rises from the flames and ashes of his past.

Golden Elm Wire Tree Sculpture
20" X 17" X 17". Made of 20, 26 and 28 gauge gold colored wire. All the leaves on this tree are created by hammering and flattening each wire.
Bonded onto oval dark wood base into mound of aluminum resin.


ART VS CRAFT

Art is creativity-oriented, while Craft concerns constructing things as a prime objective. Craft is also about marketability of those fabricated artifacts while Art is all about Originality. Performing arts are rarely mistaken for crafts and the written arts are seldom referred to as crafts. A crafter is one who makes artifacts for general consumption without necessary regard for creativity.

Exposed Roots - Wire Tree Sculpture
19" X 14" X 14" Made of 26 and 28 gauge galvanized steel wire. Weeping Willow style tree, bonded in sea sand onto a base of 1/2" thick, 7.5" round, clear glass. The sand is painted with India ink to look like moss covered earth.
