Molten Relic

Molten Relic

This found object sculpture was inspired by a mountaineer's ice axe, the "head" is a sickle bar mower guard that is "lashed" to the bar with some cable. I welded the cable to the bar and then texturized the hex shaft with what looks somewhat like metal candle wax.

KREEGA

KREEGA

This is our household mascot, Kreega. He is a welded steel and cast iron sculpture with woven wool wings and singlet done by my wife, Eileen. He is a character from my MINDFLASH series of novels and it is his job to ward off negative energy from our home.

FACES IN THE MIST

This is a window guard I made from found objects. The client was a yoga instructor who wanted faces. This is one of two screens I made for her.

Big Remote Shutter Release

Big Remote Shutter Release

Here is a door handle that I made for a camera store. The owner suggested I make something that signified operating a camera, so I chose to make this remote "shutter release". He wanted a nickel finish rather than the chrome that I suggested.

HIGH RISE

HIGH RISE

I love color, in fact I never met a color I didn't like for some reason. Here is a piece that is a part of a series I did for the joy of it using some junk found around the studio. I picked pieces and, like a stone mason making a dry wall, I "listened" to what the pieces told me to do. It was all very intuitive and, in the end, harmonious as well.
