finishes Hi all, I need some advice on permalac and buffing/additional coats. Backround: I took a job to refinish a steel chair made by another artist out of railroad components. The steel had been ground with a swirl finish and clear coated with a clear powder coat. The chair was used outside and over the years had started rusting of course. The client contacted me to have it stripped, remove the rust and put the swirl finish back on, and have it clear coated with powder coat. finish

finishes | fireplace screen Hey All! I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using a finish on a fire screen that is rusty steel that will probably stay hot.. The clients are using it as a screen between their couch and woodburner. I was going to just use beeswax and mineral oil and leave out the lindseed oil, turpentine, and johnson's floor wax because of the smell. Do you think this would work? Exterior clear finish

architectural ironwork | finishes We have recently tried clear Permalac on some exterior ironwork and it seems to be holding up well. The pieces were not heavily forged, more bent and a clean wire-brushed look was what we were after. newbie needs assistance
