The light bearer is our interpretation of an ancient Celtic legend that tells the story of the fairy who is charged with keeping the light burning through the longest night. She is captured at the moment of take off. Carrying a flower lantern with a single small flame she sets out to protect the light from the dark. Mounted in an oiled and polished Yew ring adorned with ivy and mushrooms this piece also includes references to the magical property of the Yew wood, said to be a portal between the worlds, the ivy a powerful evergreen natural element and mushrooms, rings of which are said to transport the traveler who enters to the realm of the fae.
