cross | nail cross | Other Metal Gallery Today, I am cutting nails and sticking them together. I wholesale these nail crosses to the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona, AZ. The under $50 souvineer market helps keep me in the practice. The keys to this piece are: bringing out the colors in the steel and the brass brushed heart (made by heating the steel black hot and brushing it with a brass wire brush). Benedictine Cross / Finial

blacksmithing | cross | wrought iron | Other Metal Gallery Gerald and Rich, Here's the pic of the fleur-de-lis detail: The "bulb" parts started off as 7/8" sq. stock put under my power hammer. The bottom die on the hammer was made of two heavy sold round chunks, put side by side, so that when the 7/8" sq. was set in the die, on the diagonal, the forging makes for that deep ridge on the face. It's a very simple piece and not so big...only about 23" high. » read more | 2 comments Brass Panels Installed

brass | cross | religius Hi All, I finally finished and installed the brass panels. I'm slightly disappointed with the back, which no one will ever see, but other than that I think they turned out pretty good. This was my fist experience with Brass and by far the most difficult challenge I've tackled yet. The brass "Crown" above was already there and was what governed the finish. Installed brass panel 3
