Stargazing Lily: This is a Copper Stargazing Lily that I made using the fold forming technique. This is the first time that I have tried fold forming and I had a really good time making this piece. The base is red cedar which is what I had lying around at the time, I will be putting this on a marble base. The colors are a white patina and I put a little green dye on the leaves after coloring with the torch.

I am near completing my first forge and have the ultimate goal of casting a singing bowl (or rather casting a plate and cold-working it into a bowl). HOWEVER I am running into trouble determining the composition of these bowls. Copper and copper alloys are a major component. Some of the more traditional methods call for gold, silver, mercury, copper, iron, tin, and lead. As I am not comfortable working with mercury or lead, mine will not include these.
