Clear coat

preserving mild steel with a clear finish

| |

I am looking for suggestions on perserving mild steel so it will not rust, but with a clear coat finish. I use a welder to draw on sheet metal, then I use torches, grinders, and polishing wheels to creat colour and texture to the drawing. I have been using a spray of automotive clear coat to protect the finish work from rusting, but I am looking for other ideas, I am not sure how long the spray will protect the art. any suggestions appreciated

"How do I clean my copper?"

One of the most common questions we receive is "How do I clean my copper?" and "Will it tarnish?"

Well the answer really is - it depends. Yes, copper will tarnish over time as it reacts with the air and it will develop a patina. That patina will be different depending on whether the item is inside or outside, and if you prefer you can avoid it entirely with a wax finish or lacquer.

I am looking for a Deep Clear Coat

Whitesmithing

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows what to use on a flame painted copper piece that will give me a Very Deep Shine. I want something that I can either spray on or dip and something that does not use a seperate hardner and does not "yellow."
