Casting bronze | casting | coring | small sculpture I am casting small bronze figures, up to 2kg finished weight, the larger ones cored. The investment is Molochite with alcohol-based binder (Laksil), and I find this system quick and easy to use. I use pre-formed and pre-cooked fire cement for the cores, applying the wax to them, the core is left in situ. This works. Ancient Bronze

bronze I have recently acquired some beautiful Viking bronze fragments (that really have no value themselves) that I would like to make into necklaces and possibly bracelets. Would you suggest drilling a hole into the bronze and then using a jump hoop or should I learn how to solder bronze to bronze. These pieces are over 1,000 years old. I am cleaning most of them and keeping the patina on a few pieces. Pyrometer with Dip probe.

alloy | bronze | copper | Cusn10 | Cusn20 | Cusn8 | Cymbal | Phosphor | tin I am looking for any suppliers who have 24" X 24" 1-2 mm thick sheets of cusn8, cusn10, cusn20, or any of the in between, phosphor bronze. I am a aspiring cymbal smith and, aside from ordering B20-cusn20 blanks from turkey, I haven't been able to come across any sort of sheets of these alloys. I have tried National Bronze Metals, but to no avail. Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated. |
