A fighting axe custom-made for a Marine on active duty. The body of the blade is mild steel and the 5 3/4" high-carbon edge is from a file that is welded in. The file extends back almost to the eye of the axe. In the picture below you can see the teeth of the file as it is welded into the iron. The 17" handle is made of ash and has a small kick at the end to prevent slippage. The overall weight is just under one pound.
