Well that about wraps up this little story, for the time being at least. I hope you had fun with it, I certainly did. When Enrique and I first toyed around with an idea of doing an introduction to the new ArtMetal site, we thought of doing a collaborative story which was much different than what actually happened. As it turned out, he had way too much to do, constructing the site, and I had nothing but time on my hands. Naturally I just had to take the offered bone and chew on it a bit, until I reached the marrow. After that, I take no credit, since this quirkey thing took on a life of it's own.
Enrique has been able to infuse at least some of himself into the story, by animating some of the images in each chapter. That has added a dimension that makes an electronic book somewhat unique. This has now led me into doing more experiments with electronic publishing, and I have no idea where this will lead me, in the future.
Oh, before I forget, I guess the usual disclaimers are in order here. Some of you may suspect that more than a few of the characters in the story were drawn from members of the ArtMetal mail list. Not so....honest! Just in case, I want to assure everyone that the adventure described is an actual one, and all the characters with their peculiar names really do exist. I faithfully related every detail as I remembered, and am protecting the guilty by not changing their names.
So go ahead now, and enter the front door of the new ArtMetals site. Look around, and if you hit an empty spot here or there, then at least enjoy the beautiful layout and graphics that Enrique has provided us. In time there will be more to look at.
Enjoy.
