The National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals AssociationThe National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association is an organization dedicated to improving the custom metal fabrication industry. The purpose of NOMMA is to unify, serve, promote, and educate the ornamental and miscellaneous metals industry to the benefit of the individual members and the public welfare. The membership is made up of 650 ornamental and miscellaneous metal fabricators from the U.S. and around the world and members range from one-person blacksmithing shops to 100-employee structural firms. Railings are the primary product of our industry and nearly all our members produce them. Other products produced by NOMMA members include driveway gates, garden gates, security doors, window grills, stair systems, spiral stairs, gratings, and fencing. Many members operate forges in their shops and regularly mix the old technologies with the new. To protect fabricator interests, the NOMMA Standards Committee monitors code bodies, testing organizations, and governmental agencies. At various times, the committee has sent representatives to various meetings to voice fabricator interests. The committee has an ongoing program to produce industry voluntary guidelines. These guidelines help to raise the overall quality of the industry. METALfabNOMMA serves the industry by promoting ornamental metal, educating members, and protecting fabricator interests. One of NOMMA's biggest functions is to conduct the industry's annual convention and trade show. This major event, called METALfab, is held in a different city each year. Typically, between 600-700 fabricators attend METALfab annually. PUBLICATIONS
