The featured demonstrator will be Steve Parker. Steve is an industrial smith that has 15 years of experience in making all the tongs and handling equipment for the Clifford Jacobs Forge House. Steve has worked with and stays in close contact with his friend and mentor Clifton Ralph who has shared his many years of experience with power hammer forging. Clifton worked all his life as a maintenance blacksmith for a steel mill in Gary Indiana.

This fall meet is one you should not miss if you own a power hammer or have any interest in Industrial Shaping, Tool Making, and General Forging Principals that apply to Treadle, or Power Hammer Operation and getting the results you're after in your work.

This Fall NEB event will also include:

Two Demo Areas -- Additional Demonstrators -- Green Coal Teaching Tent Iron in the Hat -- Auction -- On Site Camping -- Gallery -- Chicken BBQ Tailgating -- Coal for Sale

Local Details: Jim Fecteau's Huntington River Smithy is located in beautiful Huntington, Vermont - just 20 miles from Burlington. Lots of local B&B's and hotels near by. Onsite Camping will have water and portajohns but no RV hookups. Swimming holes nearby.

Thanks for posting that

Thanks for posting that Judson, and welcome to ArtMetal! I am planning to be there on the Fecteau/Sproul/Robertson heckling team, so our buddy Steve feels right at home. Then I'm going to head toward Minnesota for the Guild conference and then on to Ohio for QuadStates - a 3-week marathon of conferences and visiting friends' shops. I am really stoked on the whole concept and can hardly wait! I wish I could manage to take even longer, but there is a limit on how much time I can be away from home during the peak of hurricane season.

I'll see you there!

NEB Fall Meet

Due to overwhelming requests, we have ramped up the Green Coal portion of this event. We will have 6 fully equipped forging stations open for all attendees to learn on, as well as a professional, experienced smith on duty at all times to teach, explain, or help out as needed.

Steve Parker will still be the featured demonstrator, and Nathan Robertson will demo making one of his excellent hammers.

There is also now a printable PDF version of the registration form on the New England Blacksmiths website, as well as a schedule of events. http://www.newenglandblacksmiths.org/spr..._meets.htm
