I suspect even thought the response is sparse so far, that as the time comes there will be a much bigger outpouring of results being offered. There are no rules or limits delineated and that often is a disadvantage to the early thought process that searches for encyclopedic redundancies but also a huge advantage when anyone creative starts to get going. The key to this if I may offer such... is to just spend a few hours getting your table cleaned off, tools hot, clamping something in the vice, and then be disgusted, confused and go have dinner. During the night you may be swamped with revisions and real beginnings. As always my key to working in your best mode is to just get started, and then fix it. So it will also be with many as the time draws near... Then bottom line is also to ' panic and work all night.' or so since the bug is sizzling on the fry pan .

Great. will be looking forward to any and all the options that get put together. Off list there is talk and whisperings of folks doing them for the show but not many yet tallied in. As they say, 'bind it and they will come' ;-)

Dear Weseye, The greatest expense for most of us is getting to the Shindig, with our portfolios, some samples of our work and our tools. (I tend to travel with my favorite stump, sandbag and chasing tools.) To ease the burden on the host we try to devise a per person cost that we give to the host, as well as chipping in on food, labor and cooking. Charlene cooked for an army of us at Bruce's in CT last summer. If you are one of the few interested in submitting your work to the MN exhibit without traveling with your work, your expense would be shipping to and from the show. Some of the details are still being determined, so email me any other questions that you may have. It's a volunteer affair. We're doing it for the love of metal. Elizabeth M. Just a progress report. I'm just finishing the piece for the Book Exhibit. It is in copper, cast bronze and cold cast steel/marble. It came out at 51 lb. total and is 16" x 16" x 27" high. This weekend I will see what I can do about photographing it. Good thing we will be carrying it to Minnesota instead of shipping. bpfink » reply Book art at the Dig. . .

Hi Crew, I see fifty people expressing interest in Showing at the Frank Stone Gallery in June. Do we have any photos to put up for the publicity people? Are you all coming to the Shindig? Gene Olson Hosting the third annual get together of the ArtMetal crew » reply |
