A new toy....I mean tool

Went down to the Miller store and got myself a brand new syncro 200 tig. Been learning how for the past couple of days now. Sure if different from mig. Lots slower but a lot less clean up after. Been working with stainless so I am hoping this will be better all around.

Welder is great, now if the operator can just get up to speed we can get back to playing.... I mean working.

Ooo I'm jealous. Afraid to

Ooo I'm jealous.
Afraid to say I bought myself a cheap chinese inverter tig.
It's O.k. - but the last two places I worked I used millers, and they take some beating!
Enjoy.

I am pretty much just going

I am pretty much just going on instinct here. I am not sure what the difference is between the inverter model and this one.

I read lots of reviews, asked lots of questions and followed my gut. (in more ways than one)

I did look at the Lincoln welders also. I have both in the studio now. ( the lincoln is a AC 225 tombstone) I also built my first with the DC version. The big tipping point was when I took the print out from Cyberweld to the Miller dealer and not only was the Miller about 1 grand cheaper but the dealer matched the online price. So take another $300 off the tag.

After that it was cover my eyes and hand over the card.

After using it for a while I just love it. Have a lot to learn about tiging but I am enjoying the challenge.

too will tig

i believe the inverter is an electronic means of dealing with the current, rather than the older-fashioned way of using copper coils. i say the latter is more reliable. but heavier.

have fun. someday i too will tig..
