My New Brochure (Cover)

Here's a picture of my brochure in progress. I gave the graphic designer the idea for the grid(ala my railings) but I think there are too many photos on the front and maybe not the right ones either. What are your thoughts??? Janet R.

I think it looks very good, Janet. It shows a range of work, and is eye-catching. People will want to look inside, and that's what matters.

You are off to a good start. Some of the shots contain strong shadow lines that distract the eye. In others the background overpowers the piece being presented. Love your work you know that. Be careful of the lines created by the piece itself, don't let these lines lead off the page if you can help it. Just my observations. Just needs some pulling together and a little unity. Stronger may mean simpler? Brad

Brochure Meeting Today...

Thanks Brad,

I'm meeting with the graphics person today. She's
a young woman who works for a friend's company and is doing this for me at low cost. She loves my work (and I think that is important) I know she will do a great job. My vision is alittle different.... I know this is just a demo, but you are right, the pieces should not be cut off. And I will try to use pictures with less background, maybe a detail shot. Janet,
I agree with Brad. I love all of your work but something seems to distract you from it on this. It is probably a good idea to show a range of work but these don't compliment each other. It's cool that you are doing a brochure though. Be sure to show us what you end up with.

I'm kind of the odd person out here, but I like this just as it stands. The clipped pictures make me want to open the brochure and look further: "Boy, is there another picture inside of that same work...".

Thanks everyone ...for your comments + compliments.I actually went with this design last year before our show in May and I think it worked well.
I'm actually doing another rendition as I am out of brochures. I will put some new images on the cover but I like the grid also!!! Hopefully the pictures will be more harmonious. Redid our business cards and really like them.
Now they have our individual names on them . Better!!
