Answer to Bill Robert's Question

Answer to Bill Robert's Question

Bill Roberts: "Great lines. I'd say you've nailed the torso on this one. Is it headless? Did you start out with an armature, and just build up with weld bead?"

J.R.'s answer: As seen above, I started with a 1/4" rod armature, then started MIGing from the feet, up. The torso is actually shaped 18 gauge w/MIGed detail... the sheet metal was very difficult at such a small scale. I tried making a head, but was unsuccessful. I couldn't make it match the style of the rest of the piece, and didn't do it justice. I asked my mentor if "Dancer" was OK headless, and Pam gave me the thumbs up... "Off with her head!"

Thanks, J.R.
