Very nice Gothic design

Very nice Gothic design Will! What software are you using? Hope you get the commission. It will be a great addition to your portfolio.

I agree with that comment

I agree with that comment 100% It is a lovely big project to get the teeth into. Could you tell me what program you have used to create the picture.

Sketchup's great, and free

Sketchup's great, and free !
Only software I've been able to get to grips with.
And the client was never really going to "get" this design, unless they could see it at different angles..
I'm going to have to work out whether to get the partial rings rolled for me, or try to make a set of rolls to roll 1/4 " x 6" tight enough.(about 11" o/d)
Or maybe try the hydraulic press, and formers to push it into shape?
If I get 'em made they'll cost about £20.00 each....

Hi Will- For the partial

Hi Will-
For the partial rings, how about using scrap steel pipe with 1/4" wall thickness? You could cut a whole bunch of 6" sections with a band saw and then cut out the sides as necessary with a Sawzall or plasma cutter. Just a thought...

It may ber time !

I would think it might be time to talk to a used machinery dealer and find out how much it would cost to get a used slip roll (rolling machine). Might save you a lot of time and cash as well.
