Sculpture Gallery | repousse-chasing ![]() Did this one when I was first studying sculpture. I was training as a stone carver at the time and it would be some years before I really investigated metal work. We were doing yin/yang tiles for a project and didn't yet know about the balance aspect of the symbol. I had done it on a diagonal and had a day's work rejected because to the Chinese client it was like hanging the flag upside down; a symbol of chaotic change and distress. The masses side by side mean stability and balance.
