Folded forms

Folded forms

Having just seen Bill's

Having just seen Bill's creation, wish I hadn't posted these crusty artifacts! They were supposed to be part of a response to the beautiful spiral copper objet recently posted, and were made after watching a D.V.D. of Charles Lewton Brain Demonstrating here in the U.K.
It may still be available from B.A.B.A. if anyone wants to pick up a bit of inspiration. It's well filmed, but mine only worked for about 3 showings dammit!

Fold forming did you say fold forming

Will,
Crusty objects are part of the process. They are a biproduct of active braincells. A small but goodly number of us do a little foldforming. Quite nice efforts I'm very happy to welcome another to the foldforming fold. More playmates big enough sandbox. Let's have some fun. BRad

Thanks Brad, I haven't done any of this for ages - glad you brought it back to the front of what I choose to call my mind.
Now I have a powerhammer (of sorts) I must try to mess around some more with bigger stuff. Ug !

I know your supposed to

I know your supposed to anneal often.........but on the large non ferrous pieces I've done........I only annealed to open them up.

I never did follow the rules very well LOL

I love that process, Charles is a great guy. I got addicted when I saw him demo this at an ABANA conference many years ago. Here's the link to the video Brad mentioned. Brace yourself.....if you think the anticlastic form was gonna keep you awake LOL.

Nice video Bill

Hey Bill - you put a lot of work into your videos - content aside they're already a cut above the average utube fodder. But what I really liked was that bamboo video of yours - I just gotta try that!
...And I now forgive you for that copper thing as I've worked out how to do it in theory ( I think ) so should now be able to sleep tonight! Talking of which it's about bedtime here in the U.K.....

thanks, Will.

thanks, Will.
what a funny guy.
I can tell you how that anticlastic "thing" is done if your theoryville visit doesn't work out. Don't forget to go back and see the inspiration for the copper and sterling piece. It's a wonderful patterned mokume piece :)
