Sculpture Gallery | forged steel After leaving Andy to play with a block of 80mm by 50mm square steel bar, the forge and the power hammer, I returned to find he had made a 'flower pod'. He reckons it just happened and that any resemblence to any part of the female anatomy was enrirely co-incidence!! It appears that the sides and the end have folded in onto themselves, we opened the top fold up to reveal a cup shape with a slit at the bottom. The colour was achieved with a brass wire brush on hot metal. Now we need to see if we can do it again! Anyone know any good erotic art dealers/galleies in the uk! Will also post another pic ![]() Its Good

Thanks chaps for your comments. It is beautiful and very sensual. Also love the colours, anyone know why a brass brush should make the colours more intense. Being sheet metal based we are only just beginning our journey with forging. Learning and experimenting is so much fun! ![]() Forgerotica

This could be a whole new movement in metalworking; Forgerotica. How big was the final piece? In the photo it looks quite large, but you said he started with a 2" x 3" bar? Nic East, Jim Thorpe, PA USA |

lipping
yes ... you can get some very interesting effects from deliberately lipping the end of a bar by drawing too quickly ...of course most of the time we are trying to avoid it but once in a while the magic occurs ...have fun.
