Sculpture Gallery love working with these cut nails...just welded together this mini horse head but I'm playing with the idea of a complete life sized horse made of nails....would need an inner structure...might make a good summer project as I'm not going anywhere this year....SteelyJan ![]() Wow...good idea Frank....

that's something to consider , it would be great not to use too much of an inner structure unless it was something clear like resin or glass....I'm dreaming!!! ![]() Nails

I made this bowl out of copper and the lid out of the same nails you used. The patina on the copper is a natural fumed ammonia patina. The nails are done with WD40 applied hot in layers until I got the black I wanted. Give it a try, you can get from brown, golden to full black depending on how many layers and how hot you get it. Big Horse
Hi SJ,
I've seen it done with lots of different types of metal things. A horse from cut nails would be great. Lots of work though.Maybe building over a plaster mold that could later be dissolved would work.Kind of like what Stephan does with his beautiful sculptures of women using stainless plug cuts.
