This piece was started a while ago and I wanted to weld "things" projecting from it. Walter said absolutely not...so I shelved it . Suddenly the idea of creating a crescent shape within the circle using weld popped into my head. The heat coloration only added to the mystery!!! Walter made a great base for it. I am really happy....

Today in the studio was totally mind blowing....My friend Tom Holmes (check out his sculpture on the web) came over because he wanted to do a collaberative piece with me. He ices culptures in the winter , lights and photographs them. His work is amazing...totally different. He is icing an entire basket ball court for an ice festival in Milford Pa.
He wanted to build a large scale piece with me to ice. We pretty much put the whole piece together today!!!!!
It's about 8 feet tall. It's mesh with a mesh crescent on top.A lot of things going on , one of my snowflakes will be suspended from it. As soon as I can prop it up Ill take a photo.
Tom will install it , then ice it , light it and photograph it. It will be up for two months over the winter. Wow, finally a large scale piece under my belt...I'm insane with excitement... Back to the studio.... SteelyJan
