rose with gold butterfly attached

this rose came out nice. The butterfly is soldered on and then gold leafed for nice little accent!

the butterfly adds more life to the rose. i plan on making more floral stuff and adding different insects to the pieces since this one worked well with the flower.

That's a very nice rose, Ryg. The butterfly is a nice accent, too.

It has been my observaton that almost all rose leaves have serrated edges, rather than smooth. While it certainly takes a bit more time to cut/file the serrated edges, I think it would add to the overall effect in a positive way.

What did you use for the stem?

thanks for the tip Rich! That does make sense. I used 1/4 inch copper tubing from the local hardware for the stem. It works great. just solder it to the base and you are all set.
