Rotating

Hi Nelson,
It would be really kewl to see this sculpture rotated.

Frank, I did not want to

Frank,
I did not want to mention that yet, but indeed you read my mind. Giving this sort of sculpture some slow real movement might be very interesting, when the vibes the work has are given some rotation. Sorry about the lousy pics. That mildew color saved me huh... glad you like it Frank. Different folks ,different strokes. Thanks. nelson.

Hi Nelson, the sculpture

Hi Nelson, the sculpture looks really nice. I like the undulating forms and the airyness(sp?)of it. I thought I read that it was kinetic, does it spin or sway? Did i misread? It would look great outside nestled with actual plants.

Hi Jake, No,you read it

Hi Jake,
No,you read it right. As I understand, a sculpture that moves by any natural force, or by means of a mechanical device, or by activating some mass (like a sphere) to roll down through the work due to its potential energy, is said to be kinetic. Likewise, a sculpture standing still, may be considered kinetic if it aludes to movement, but without any piece moving at all! In my case, that optical effect, whereby something seems to vibrate, is considered kinetic too. At times, when the obesrver moves in front of a sculpture, the piece seems to move in front of you, and it`ll appear to move as fast as you move... relativity again! Your garden idea is good Jake.Nelson.
