TWIST AND NO SHOUT

TWIST AND NO SHOUT

This a sculpture I just finished for a client. Although small (about 18" high), I like and enjoy my new discovery. In fact, in my personal opinion we as artists, are not creators of anything, we simply by chance, or causality, depending on our view, come across new tecniques, forms, and ways to convey ideas or mesages. So art to me is Discovery Expression. All we know and don`t know is already created... This piece I`d like to dedicate it to Jay, yes man, this was inspired by your TWIST AND SHOUT sculpture. I discovered your work, and you helped me do so. Enjoy it if you will as I do. It`s a little different, but say related. It helped me discovered some other designs that sprang out from that basic model.I do not have a forge yet, I`m making a simple one to start, so I had a hard time twisting that 2" square pipe with my torch, into something that could look decent for a start. This bud`s for you Jay...! Nelson

What a great re-invention of Jay's pieces that we all love. It's wackier but intriguing .Well done. Bring it on!

Janet I laughed about the term wackier, and it`s good when one can laugh about one`s own work. That`s what art is all about discovering and or reinventing... Thanks. Nelson.

Nelson..hope you didn't misunderstand....

Nelson,
I didn;t mean that "wacky" is any bad way! Wacky is good,
you took it and flew with it. I like it!!!! Laughing is good too!Janet R.

Wacky yep

Nelson,
No offense either but I see why Janet can call it a little wacky. My first look at the picture it gave an impression to have a head and an eye looking at you with a perplexed look. But the piece is interesting and I like it.

Hi Warren, I`m thinking about changing the name to wacky cramp or something...It`s been fun. Thanks. Nelson.

Hi Janet, I knew you`d say

Hi Janet, I knew you`d say so, it`s ok, believe me as I laughed `cause I took it in the best sense. nevertheless, we all do "wacky" things at some time that ain`t that good, but there`s no such thing as good or bad, and rather the interpretation we make and our actitud.Instead, probably something appears as good or bad depending on the convinience. For instance, a delicate situation drove me out of farming,so at that time, the event was regarded as bad. Years latter, I`m so grateful that event took place. Thanks to it,I`ve got involved in something I love much more, art, and ironically into this site and a chance to meet you all as consecuence of that "bad" event... thanks then and thanks now again ! nelson.

Looks like a snake with a large muscle cramp!!

I really like it. Have to put this on my "give it a try" board.

Hey kevin, I like the muscle

Hey kevin, I like the muscle cramp concept LOL. A good sense of humor is ok you know. Seriously, it made me laugh more than the waky idea. I must say it was fun making it, and it`s fun hearing your input. Someone said that a work that provokes reactions of any kind, will never be a failure. Thank you guys. Nelson.

My thinking also. I always

My thinking also. I always say

"Art is the physical masifestation of emotion. Laugh, cry, throw rocks or throw up, I don't care. As long as you react"

I think I coined that, but feel free to use it.
