Sculpture Gallery I did this for a friend who wanted a bottle tree but left the design up to me. He is a Harry Potter fan and likes the number 7. So, I did a Whomping Willow with seven main stems that end in seven branches with seven bottle per branch. He seems happy. Cool! Very creative use with

What a wonderful piece this is, Mele, I love the movement and color. Has there been any problem with the wind? I'd be afraid that the mega dust devils we get in AZ would suck the bottles off. Lin » reply I like this piece, too. With

I like this piece, too. With the word "willow" in the title I had visions of the bottles swaying into each other in a good wind! I'm sure Mele made it rigid enough to prevent that. Still, some movement might be interesting. » reply Thanks to both of you. Yes

Thanks to both of you. Yes it does sway ever so lightly in the wind but not much. It also makes a nice tinkling sound when it does that. It is tack welded at most all the places that the rebar cross to help make it more rigid. » reply Supported

Thanks! No, each of the seven main stems are welded to a circle that is reinforced and that circle is held down with 7 U shaped rebar stakes. » reply womping willow

A new meaning to metal work
