Mica is a great material for lighting. Mica can be heated with a paint stripper gun or even ironed to heat it to around 120 degrees faherenheit. Then the mica becomes very maleable. Beautiful wall sconce Matt! I looked at the "original" version of this photo and was very impressed with the blue beak of the bird and the snakes head peaking over the sconce. Nice touch! I also noticed the shade but couldn't quite make out the material. Have you ever considered using mica? Mica is great for curved shapes.
