Slivered

This piece sold to a local yoga center in Nashville. It is finished with an ink wash and concrete. Structurally, it is a very simple piece, but I really love the clean flow that it has.

Welcome

Hi Robert,
Nice piece, it makes me feel good looking at it. Could you explain how you applied the ink and concrete? Welcome friend.

process

mix the ink with alcohol. depending on the depth of color, the mix ratio is 1 part ink to 1 part alcohol (intense color), 1 part ink to 10 part alcohol (muted color). the concrete is actually a filler concrete that comes in a tube. I use this because it has a flexative added to it so it sticks well and won't crack as easy. Hope that helps and thanks for the kind words.

Welcome Robert!

beautiful piece..can see why a yoga center would love it.
I like the mix of finishes...nice. My husband used ink on one of his pieces and it gave a beautiful finish. The concrete idea is unique! I couldn't understand how to see any of your work by your link so....please show us more! SteelyJan
