"Art" and trying to figure out where it came from

Yes I know this is a Metal board but you guys have been around art for a long time.

Ok, so here is the short story on this piece. My inlaws had this in their house for more than 45 years. We know it came from Cape Cod. We think it came from Wellfleet. It is clay and wood on a wood backing. 7 foot wide by 5 tall. Weights in at 158 lbs. No name, no paperwork, my mother inlaw knew the whole story about this piece. Sadly they are both gone now.

So the question is..... Has anybody seen anything like this? Got any ideas where to start looking? We have the family house on the Cape that we go to every year so we keep looking around there. Passing the photo and what have you. Sure would like to put a name to this piece.

Thanks

I will try to post an enlarged photo of this piece. Not sure how but will give it a try. There is no backing on this. When you turn it around you see the plywood sheet the blocks are attached to. No Signature can be found anywhere. A close up of this wall piece I am trying to ID.Artcloseup: A close up of this wall piece I am trying to ID.
