Thanks Chuck. Each section is turned about 30 degrees, so there is always a thin section and some detail to look at. The patrons did not want to lose their view but see the piece at the same time. The dimensions at the top of each section only change 8 inchs from bottom to top. Because of the twist they appear much diffrent. It was a fun piece to make, got one more for these folks. An inside stainless work alone the same lines as "Three Sons" but diffrent. Got a new tool coming in a few days, hope the neighbors have earplugs!!!! We are out of here for a couple of weeks so stay cool everyone!! » reply in motion..

Hi Keith; Thanks, I was trying to convey a sense of motion to a piece that can't move because of the way I had to mount it. The house is very modern so it really looks great where it is. Each section is 16ga. front, top and back, with the edges 1\8 inch strap. All new steel so no rust inside to speak of. Got to use the slip roller, sandbag and the english wheel for all the shaping. Used my head a time or two also. As for the powdercoat prep. it was sandblasted with a fine grit to check for any bad spots. Those were fixed and then over to the powdercoater. They blasted it again to even out the surface and then zinc primer. Baked, powdercoated and baked again. I really like the way this company takes the time and care to make use there is the best coating on the piece possible. » reply Hi Kevin, the piece looks

Hi Kevin, the piece looks great. The color and the "motion" it seems to have go really well with the setting. I'm sure the clients are very happy. Jake » reply Backflip

I'm glad you pictured it against the mountain instead of grotty old Phoenix. What is the finish? Nic East, Jim Thorpe, PA USA » reply The finish is powdercoat

The finish is powdercoat over a baked zinc primer. The whole thing was sandblasted with a light grit for prep. There is an even better view of the mountain from a little farther out but I would need a ladder about 30 feet tall!!! » reply Hi Kev

Wow
Kevin,
As usaul you've outdone yourself with this peice.
I really like the way you have connected each segment together. By connecting them with an end piece thru the part was a great idea! Man you were not kidding how HIGH the install location was. I hope the affect you invisioned worked out as well from the differnt vantage points. Again GREAT JOB!!!
