Fabrication | OT: Sandbox YAK | Steel | Welding Sculpture Gallery | fountain | steel  Does anyone else make fountains? This is out of steel with a zinc undercoat. Powdercoated 6 mil thick (instead of 4) with a clearcoat on top of that. It is about 1 year old and lives on the west coast (CA) Got the idea from the sprial stair case I did a couple of years ago. Hi Jake The only thing I was not happy with on this fountain was the total lack of water noise. The only sound you get from this is when the water falls in to the tub under the rocks. I sure love the way the "spillway" shimmers when it is running. » reply  fountains

great fountains guys ..... here are a couple that play a Japanese scale as they drip from bowl to bowl.....the best sound came from a bronze version(the first) but I cannot find the photo. » reply magnolia

this also makes a pleasant sound ....water drips from each flower .... you can see the seperate inlet pipes under the water ....this is before the pump was hooked up ... I am still looking for action pics of the dripping. » reply on a roll here

I made a fountain for a hotel in Addis Ababa and I could not bring myself to have flowing water when so many people are suffering from drought there ... so I made a frozen fountain with metal and glass.

Wow! These are really impressive. The slender sinuous forms and the Pod like bowls create a nice organic form. I'll bet they all sound great. What kind of pump system do you use with all of those inlet pipes? Jake » reply  Inspiring

Your fountain looks great.
Your fountain looks great. I've only built one, and just the metalwork at that, but it was pretty boring. It was a stainless steel wall fountain 4' x 15'. Ironically, due to questions about spots rusting, it was the reason I joined art metal. I would really like to try to fabricate a fountain with as much character as some of yours. We'll see.
