A different copper tree

Hey Will, Hi all Here is my copper tree project. It was for a school here in Arizona. 7 to 9 feet tall out of steel with 968 copper leaves. The trunk is made out of 1 inch 3/4 and 1/2 inch solid stock. It came with the "tree bark" texture already stamped in from the mill. I used the forge and a hydraulic pipe bender. (That two days ago fell on my foot breaking two toes!!!!) (yes I was wearing steel toed boots) The kids and staff repoussed the leaves and it took almost 3 hours to hang them all. We installed over Xmas break so when everyone came back there it was. The teacher we worked with said the kids were just standing there with their mouths hanging open. Wound up being alittle over 300 lbs so the school made me sink it in concrete.

schools - god bless'em

Nice tree Kevin. And another way to skin the proverbial cat.
Seems like schools are a pretty good source of work fo metal artists.
And how nice to have a group of clients who aren't too cool to show their wonder when they see what you've created!
