Sculpture Gallery | brass | copper | fantasy | mythology | sculpture | small scale sculpture | wire ![]() This is my first sculpture, entirely crocheted with 28ga brass as well as copper wire and the hair is made of stainless steel. It represents de Birth of a Water Nymph. She is holding a small water-lily in her hands, similar to the one from which she has magically emerged. This flower is an offering to celebrate life. This dainty lady measures only 6½ inches and has necessitated more than 25 hours to actually make it, not counting the creative process, research and problem solving. Here is a link to a slideshow that I prepared showing the nymph during the different steps of its creation, as well as other angles of the finished piece. There is some animated text at the bottom of the screen, in French and in English (you will have to read fast though...) ;-) Click here to view the Birth of Water Nymph musical slideshow Newly Appreciated!

Hi Johanne, I'm not a big fan of wire working but I have to admit your slide show was amazing!!! It brought it to life. I compliment your technique and ability. Although I would love to see something like this on a larger scale. For me that would be the bomb!!!! Congradulations. Janet R. » reply Thank you Janet! I have

Thank you Janet! I have already bought huge crochet hooks, and doing a sculpture in that style, but on a larger scale is indeed in my plans for the near future. Un Bijou de Caméléon » reply Thank you Frank! Un Bijou de
