Sculpture Gallery ![]() The 'Warriors' series is complete. Lots of sweat and I'm seriously connected to this work.. There are nine separate pieces attempting to depict the experiences of warriordom. ![]() Warriors

Thx Warren, I'm trying to depict the various aspects of warriordom - boredom, courage and resolutness, bonding with one's fellow warriors... etc. The work is not meant to be any sort of political statement. Every age and every culture has its warriors... Jim » reply Warriors

Two things come to mind when I view this piece; the lack of shields and the apparent need for a fourth warrior in recumbent position simulating death. I enjoy giving personality and significance to railroad spikes and other found objects. Here is my EARTH DAY 1970; Nic East, Jim Thorpe, PA USA » reply ![]() thanx Nic

Thanx Nic. this piece is about boredom as in 'hours and days of boredom interupted by moments of sheer terror' . The dead and mortally wounded are in the work ' Carnage and Ruin' The lack of shields is because I couldn't find any more of the slightly dished disks that I was able to use as shields in other works. ( 'you go to war with what you have ' ) Anyway, the work is done and will be going on exhibition with a number of other works in about a week at the Railroad Museum in Rosenberg, TX. Jim btw, I drove my motorcycle thru Jim Thorpe, PA several years ago. Wish I'd stopped and taken an hour or so to enjoy the charm and character there. » reply |

Sweet
Jim,
Quite a series, very well executed. Hard to pick out a favorite because they are all so cool. Amazing.
